How To Arrange Cross-Country Transportation
The American country is not such a big place now that there are lots of choices for professional transportation to get creatures great and small across the country from sea to sea. We have found several that we trust and work with regularly, their information is below. If you want to arrange transport, just call or text them for a quote! Remember to tell them that we are in Guthrie Oklahoma. Keep in mind, you may need a CVI (Certified Vet Inspection) depending on who you use and where you are going. CVIs are usually $100 (you pay $75 and we pay $25). Transporters are usually able to pickup within one to three weeks as most make continuous loops around the country. Also remember that animals will need to be paid in full before leaving the farm.
Brian Harp Transport 1-808-443-7504: This is my favorite transporter. He uses a van, so animals are in a climate controlled environment which is especially important when it is the peak of summer or winter. Brian raises Kunekunes himself, so he understands their needs and provides excellent care. He also only transports a couple animals at a time. He is based in Arkansas and hauls all over the country. He’s also one of the most affordable options. He will deliver to your doorstep.
Boston’s Pet Transport 1-615-423-4868, 1-850-426-7225; Based in Tennessee. This transporter is an excellent communicator and affordable.
Lippert Family Transport 1-703-595-5405: This company is based on the East Coast and hauls all over the central and eastern US. They haul multiple species in a large goose neck trailer, but animals are kept separate. Make sure that you have enough room for a large trailer to turn around when they drop off for you, otherwise you might need to meet them nearby. They are knowledgeable and conciencious about animal care.
Goat Totin’ Granny (Vicky) 1-414-350-3005: Vicky hauls all over the country and uses her vehicle which provides climate control, and a bumper pull trailer modified to keep temperatures low in the summer and drafts down in the winter. She is conciencous with animal care and hauls smaller numbers at a time. She will deliver to your doorstep.
Bob May Transport 1-530-200-0866: This transporter is based in North Texas and primarily travels throughout the central US and the west coast. He is very affordable. He hauls multiple species in a long gooseneck trailer, animals are kept separate. Keep in mind that he passes through the dreaded Mojave Desert, so you might choose another transporter if it is the peak of summer. Also, he doesn’t deliver to your doorstep, so you will need to be prepared to meet him at an interstate stop nearby.
These are some transporters that I have seen but we have not worked with that you can also call if the above do not fit your needs.
